Glenn Cook is an award-winning freelance writer, photographer and publishing consultant in the metropolitan Washington, D.C. area. His stories and photos have been featured in consumer, trade, non-profit, association, and government publications for more than two decades.
At industry events, Glenn has spoken to audiences at the FOLIO Publishing Summit and the Association Media & Publishing annual conferences about the changing world of publishing. As part of his consulting practice, he works with associations in the Greater Washington, D.C, area for Fox Associates, a Chicago-based publishers representative.
For 12 years, Glenn served as managing editor, editor-in-chief, and publisher of American School Board Journal, the oldest continuously published K-12 education publication in the U.S. He worked for 13 years in editorial, creative, and management positions at newspapers in Texas and North Carolina and created a communications program for a 15,000-student North Carolina school district.
Glenn has received more than 60 individual awards from state and national organizations for writing, design, photography, and communications projects and was named to the FOLIO: 40, which recognizes the most influential people in magazine publishing.
